WiMAX is a revolutionary wireless broadband technology, providing a voice and high-speed data connection to fixed and mobile users at low cost.

Mobile WiMAX is based on the IEEE 802.16-2005 standard, and is already widely deployed around the world. As a mature, stable technology, it is unmatched today - giving you the opportunity to be first to market with a true mobile broadband service.

However you wish to deploy the technology: for fixed, nomadic or mobile service; for retail or wholesale business; as a new network or to complement an existing network - WiMAX products and services have already proven their ability to deliver.

Sigma Wireless has worked with Motorola to roll out a national Wimax network.

The Motorola Point-to-Multipoint (PMP) 400 Series offers additional benefits that are equally important, including:

  • High-Speed Near Line of Sight (nLOS) Access: The PMP 400 Series uses powerful OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) technology to deliver exceptional LOS/nLOS coverage with solutions that are able reach around buildings and other obstructions. Results include maximized communications, increased productivity, new revenue streams and strengthened bottom lines.
  • High Throughput: The Motorola PMP 400 Series delivers enhanced throughput of up to 21 Mbps supporting today’s most in-demand — but bandwidth-intensive — applications such as Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), video surveillance, high-speed Internet access, multiple voice connections, and many more.
  • Long Range Connectivity: The Motorola PMP 400 Series extends network connectivity ranges to distances of five miles (eight kilometers) or more per AP cluster, facilitated by higher gain antennas, rate adaptive modulation schemes and longer cyclic prefixes.
  • Cost-Effective Co-Location: Whether you’re a new operator or an existing network provider, the Motorola PMP 400 Series provides one of the lowest costs of ownership in the industry. For current Motorola Wireless Broadband users, the 400 Series’ cost-effectiveness is driven by its ability to co-locate with other Motorola equipment to provide either network extension or a network overlay. For new operators, the system provides a globally proven all-outdoor solution, with reduced power consumption, fast, simple deployment, high reliability and low-cost ongoing operation.
